Instructions for lds.org HTML download tool The .zip file contains the files for running the program and also the source files. The main files for running the program are run.bat and treeoflife.jar. The main files for the source code are the src folder and build.xml and build_all.bat. The build process uses ant which is open source from apache. The.zip file has the program I use to download things from the lds.org website. Unzip it into your c:\program files folder. It will create a folder called TreeOfLife and that is where the program is located. You will need to have java installed (which I suspect you already have). You can use the run.bat file to run the program or you can try the “Download from lds.org” shortcut. To use the shortcut you will probably need to change the properties to point at the correct folder for the java you have installed. By default the program will save the converted files in your “My Documents” folder in the “Church\Handheld” folder. These will be created if they don’t exist. Under Handheld there will be a folder for Ensign, Conference, and Curriculum. If you want it to save the files to a different folder you can go to “c:\Documents and Settings\<username>\.treeoflife\library\library.properties” file and edit the directory name in it with any text editor. |
