MLS Calc was originally developed to assist LDS wards and branches to balance the coin and note totals when closing donation batches inside the MLS program. However, this program is useful for other situations such as fund raising activities, or when you finally decide it is time to open your piggy bank.
There are other programs available to keep track of cash. However, they require you to stay current on your data entries. If you fall behind on your record keeping, the other programs become useless. Fortunately, MLS Calc allows you to calculate cash totals at any time. You simply enter the number of each type of coin and note you have. MLS Calc will calculate the totals for you automatically! When you are finished entering the numbers, go to the summary page to get your total. You can take a tour of MLS Calc below or download a demo version to try it for yourself.
The MLS application used by the LDS Church (shown above) requires ward and branch clerks to count the money manually before entering the values into the Notes and Coins fields. This makes recordkeeping duties time consuming because calculation errors are likely to occur. MLS Calc is designed to make life easier when processing donations. |

The Summary page allows you to glance at your totals on a single screen. The coin and note totals can be entered into the MLS program running on your ward's computer. |
MLS Calc's Copy menu allows you to copy and paste calculation results to other Windows Mobile applications.This makes it easy to make a log file or journal entry.. |
On rare occasions when you need to recount the cash, MLS Calc's reset menu is friendly in letting you choose which values to clear. There are options for resetting coin calculations, note calculations, or to reset everything. MLS Calc automatically updates calculation results during reset operations.
